Ong Ye Kung is the Minister for Education. He was elected Member of Parliament for Sembawang GRC in Sep 2015, and appointed to the Cabinet of Singapore on 1 Oct 2015.  He had held the positions of Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) and Second Minister for Defence. He is concurrently a board member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and Chairman of the Chinese Development Assistance Council. 


Prior to his Cabinet appointment, he held the position of Director of Group Strategy at Keppel Corporation, overseeing long term strategic planning of the Group’s activities. 


Before joining Keppel Corporation, he was the Deputy Secretary-General of National Trades Union Congress, overseeing the Labour Movement’s employment and employability programmes. 


He also held various positions in the Government earlier.  These include the Chief Executive of Singapore Workforce Development Agency, during which he spearheaded many initiatives to build up the Continuing Education and Training infrastructure. 


He was the Principal Private Secretary to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong from 2003-2005, and Press Secretary to Prime Minister Lee from 1997-2003.  Mr Ong was also the Deputy Chief Negotiator for the US-Singapore Free Trade Agreement.   


Mr Ong graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK) with a BSc (Econs) First Class Honours, and holds a Master of Business Administration from the Institute of Management Development, Lausanne, Switzerland.  He is married with two teenage children.

Viswa Sadasivan

With over 30 years of experience in media and public policy analysis, Viswa Sadasivan has served on the boards of several government agencies, and as a member of various national committees, such as the Economic Review Committee.  For a decade, he was chairman of the political division of the Feedback Unit of the government.  He served in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) as a National Serviceman for 40 years.  Holding the rank of Colonel, his last held position was Deputy Director, Joint Operations.  Viswa made a mark as a Nominated Member of Parliament.


Known for his independent thinking and incisive style, Viswa is a sought-after speaker, and has interviewed several leaders including the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and most recently Mr Barack Obama.  He has moderated over 300 policy forums in Singapore and globally, including UNESCO’s inaugural Conference for Persons with Disabilities, and the St Gallen Symposium in Switzerland.


As founder and CEO of Strategic Moves - a corporate strategy consulting practice - Viswa has trained and provided counsel to thousands of top leaders in Singapore and the region in corporate strategy, policy engagement, crisis leadership and innovation.  An accredited mediator for more than 20 years, Viswa is a board member of the Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC).  


Viswa holds a Master in Public Administration degree from the Kennedy School of Government and Administration, Harvard University, where he topped his class in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution.

Aslam Sardar ’10 (AXP-9)

Aslam has more than 18 years’ experience as an entrepreneur and corporate executive. He currently holds the role of Vice President, Commercial Sales at ST Enginnering, Electronics Sector. In this role, he is responsible for the growth of the education vertical as well as the commercial go-to-market strategies for the training and simulation systems business in Singapore. 


Prior to joining ST Engineering, he worked in the shipping and supply chain sector, overseeing global change management, process improvement, commercial reporting and sales transformation across 6 regions. Before his recent corporate roles, he founded a boutique management and leadership training consultancy which he successfully grew and exited some years back. Aslam also serves on the board of a local charity and social enterprise, and is an active community volunteer. He received his Public Service Medal (Pingat Bakti Masyarakat) in 2016.

Aslam holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours First Class) from Curtin University of Technology.

Sityodtong is a self-made entrepreneur and lifelong martial artist from Thailand. His rags-to-riches life story has inspired millions around the world on BBC, CNN, Bloomberg, CNBC, and other major media. Forbes recently selected Sityodtong as one of Asia’s next generation tycoons. He was also named “Asia’s King of Martial Arts” by the Financial Times, and Asia's 3rd Most Powerful Person in Sports by FOX Sports. 

Chatri Sityodtong holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Tufts University.

Harbinder Singh '07 (AXP-6)

Based between Dubai and Singapore, Harbinder Singh is a Singaporean with almost 30 years of international environmental experience in developed and developing countries. He has grown award winning, multi-million USD businesses in 6 different countries; and has served in senior management roles for mainboard listed companies, privately held conglomerates and state owned enterprises. He is a regular columnist on business matters and future trends in magazines such as Waste Management and Recycling Middle East and Africa.  Harbinder has been promoting a circular economy business model at both business and government levels since 2014.


Besides environmental interests, Harbinder’s other interests are technology, AI, robotics and consumer engagement. He is an investor and board member of several companies. Wef June 2019, Harbinder is also the President of the Singapore Business Council in United Arab Emirates.  Harbinder has a LLB (Hons) from the University of Manchester, UK and a MBA from the University of Chicago, US.

Rahimah Abdulrahim

Ima  is the Director of Public Policy for Southeast Asia (Established Countries) for Facebook. She joined Facebook in March 2019 after serving The Habibie  Center for 19 years, where she headed up the Think Tank as their Executive Director for 9 years.  

For more than 20 years she has been a tireless advocate for peace and democracy in Indonesia and the region, and carries 20 years of experience working to promote democracy and human rights. She has fostered a vast network of contacts and maintained excellent working relations with individuals and organizations in the public and private sector. She is determinedly active in the network of civil society organizations, nationally, regionally and globally. 

Ima  is  a  2018  Stanford  University  Draper  Hills  Fellow,  2017  University  of  Hong  Kong  AsiaGlobal Fellow,  a  2015  Yale  World  Fellow,  a  2010  MIT-IDEAS  Indonesia  Fellow  and  a  2001  Asia Foundation - APSA  US Congressional  Fellow  (where  she  worked  in  the  Office  of  Congresswoman Juanita  Millender-McDonald  of  California).  She  holds  a  Bachelors  of  Human  Science  in  Political Science  and  Islamic Studies from  the  International  Islamic  University Malaysia,  and  a Master of Art (MA)  in  International  Studies  and  Diplomacy  from  SOAS  (School  of  Oriental  and African  Studies),  University  of  London.   

She enjoys traveling extensively to speak about democracy, good governance, women and peace building, democratization and the role of civil society in Southeast Asia. In  her  free  time  Ima  advocates  for  survivors  of  gender  based  violence  and  abuse  through  the nonprofit  Lentera  Sintas  Indonesia.

Wong Kim Yin '03 (AXP-2)

Mr Wong Kim Yin is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Power Ltd. He is also the Chairman of SP PowerAssets Ltd, Singapore District Cooling Pte Ltd, SP Digital Holdings Pte Ltd, SP One Pte Ltd as well as a Director of SP Services Ltd. 


Mr Wong is also a Director of SeaTown Holdings Pte Ltd, China Venture Capital Fund Corporation Ltd,SkillsFuture Singapore and DSO National Laboratories. He was also a member of the Board of Governors, Singapore Polytechnic. 


Mr Wong was formerly Senior Managing Director, Investments at Temasek International (Pte) Ltd, where he had been responsible for investments in various sectors, including the energy, transportation and industrial clusters. Prior to Temasek, he was with the AES Corporation, a global power company listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Lawrence Low '08 (AXP-7)

Lawrence Low has more than 25 years’ experience in driving growth and turnaround in industrial B2B segments. He currently holds the role of Vice President,  Asia Pacific at  TES (Total Environmental Solutions), a recognised global leader in electronic waste recycling and secure IT assets disposition. TES is a portfolio company of Navis Capital which has US$8bn assets under management. TES is possibly the largest electronic waste company globally with 35 owned sites in 22 countries.

Lawrence is a regular speaker on the importance of compliant e-waste recycling, closed loop solutions in the circular economy. One of his top priorities in 2019 is the launch of TES’s new S$20M lithium battery recycling plant in Singapore which provides close-the-loop solutions for end of life batteries from electric vehicles and mobile phones.

Prior to joining TES, Lawrence has held various global leadership positions with US listed companies where he has led and grown multi-million USD businesses from R&D stage to high volume manufacturing. His domain expertise electronics, semiconductors and solar, in addition to electronic waste recycling.

Lawrence holds a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore.

Karin Berardo, AB'91, MBA '00, MPP'00

Karin Berardo, ESG Lead at Chicago Global, brings 25 years of experience in public and private equity, public policy and economic development. Founder and CEO of ABREN, an advisory company focused on impact investing, clean tech and infra-structure assets in emerging markets.

Karin completed her Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies, and received a dual Masters in Public Policy with a focus on taxation and public finance from the Harris School of Public Policy and an International MBA from the Booth School of Business,all from the University of Chicago.

Mark Barnekow

As Executive Director of the University of Chicago Yuen Campus in Hong Kong, Mark will be the primary liaison to the University for all aspects of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Academic Complex and The Francis and Rose Yuen Campus.  He will work collaboratively with all University partners who oversee degree and non-degree program offerings in Hong Kong and facilitate communication and coordination between Chicago Booth and University units in Hong Kong. Mark will also take the lead in representing the University in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area and coordinate with the University centers in Beijing and Delhi to drive overall strategy for the Asia Pacific Region.  Mark has nearly three decades of global executive leadership experience within large corporations, management consulting firms and early stage companies.  As the CEO of various technology companies in Silicon Valley for the last 20 years, Mark has driven innovation and strategy from the start-up stage to successful exits. 

Mark Began his career as a University professor in both Taiwan and Sichuan and is always prepared to teach, coach and mentor students and first-time start-up founders who have open, entrepreneurial and innovation mindsets.  Mark is an active alumnus of the University of Chicago having earned his MBA in finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.  He previously served as a Global Advisory Board Member – Asia, was part of the University of Chicago Beijing Campus launch community, was an Executive in Residence in Career Services at Booth and has often participated as speaker and panelist at Booth-hosted events.

Mark earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison where he also began his studies in Mandarin Chinese.  Always active in the arts throughout his life, Mark founded Contempor’ati (www.contemporati.com), a non-profit arts organization based in San Francisco which records and shares the lives and works of international artists with a unique expertise on the Chinese diaspora in the United States.

Marijohn Sampson '09 (AXP-8)

An AXP-8 Graduate (Class of ‘09), Marijohn brings over 20 years of global experience in strategy & management in emerging markets, business development and private investments.

Energetic and charismatic leader, very passionate about business development in challenging geographies and strategy formulation aimed to bring organizations to the next level.

She currently works for CADG as a Chief Strategy Officer where she provides strong leadership and visionary management to global and widely diversified group of companies that operate in 25 countries across the African continent.

Thomas Lindy Sorensen '10 (AXP-9)

Thomas Lindy Sorensen is the Chief Commercial Officer for Asia Pacific for DB Schenker. 

Thomas has over 28 years experience in the transport & Logistics Industry having spend 25 years of those working in Asia. In the course of his career, Thomas has worked in number of roles within Finance, Sales, Commercial & General Management with the AP Moller Group & DB Schenker.


Majority of that time spend in China & Hong Kong while also worked in Denmark, India, Singapore, Thailand & Korea. While in Asia, Thomas was the Country CEO for Thailand, Korea and China (North / Central).


Thomas holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. 

Chad Ovel '08 (AXP-7)

Chad Ovel has over 20 years’ experience leading value growth in Vietnam. Before joining Mekong Capital as Partner, he had a successful track record as a CEO leading the rapid growth of both a foreign-owned export manufacturing business and a local company operating in the sectors of construction, retail and manufacturing. 


Since joining Mekong Capital in 2013, he has led Mekong Capital’s successful investments in restaurant operator Golden Gate, which generated a 9.1x return upon exit, and in pharmaceutical leader Traphaco, which generated a 6.3x return upon exit. 


Chad holds an MBA from University of Chicago.

Stephen Ho '09 (AXP-8)

Stephen is SkyLab Group’s Chief Operating Officer and concurrently the Managing Director of its wholly owned subsidiary SkyLab Services. He is spearheading SkyLab’s effort in the implementation of large-scale enterprise grade and mission-critical IoT and edge computing solutions across different domains, including smart cities and strategic city management, maritime and logistics, leveraging on SkyLab’s end-to-end capabilities in optimizing the delivery of content, software and machine data globally.  

He has over 20 years of experience in managing large scale international business, city planning, design and technology consultancy, real estate investment and development as well as project management. His other areas of expertise includes strategy, business process re-engineering, business development, management and commercialisation of intellectual properties, public speaking and organisational development. Stephen’s extensive international experience ranges from China, South Asia, South East Asia, Middle East and Africa to Latin America.

Stephen holds a MBA (High Honours) from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Master’s and Honour’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore and a Masters of Arts (Contemporary China) from the Nanyang Technological University. Stephen has received numerous scholarships and awards for academic and research excellence.

Suhas Patil '10

Founder and CEO of Sankey Solutions, fastest growing innovative technology solutions company which clocked growth rate of 300% in 2018. Sankey Solutions has rapidly expanded its operations to many international geographies, prominent among them are UK, Singapore, and Hong Kong and has delivered state-ofthe-art technology solutions in the areas of Machine Learning, Mobility, AI Conversational platform, Business Intelligence etc.  
A solution architect at heart, he has led Sankey Solutions to great heights with his zeal for technology and commendable leadership skills. In between strategies and client meetings, Suhas likes to get hands on the latest frameworks, tools, in ever evolving technology paradigm. His continuous learning mindset is reflected in the culture embodiment of Sankey, where continuous learning prevails. 
Prior to founding Sankey Solutions, Suhas worked as an Analytics leader at Mu Sigma, he shaped out a deal with the world’s largest cloud services provider to help them improve their customer acquisition and retention strategies by leveraging the big data tech stack.  
Suhas holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and has more than 13 years diverse experience in solving various analytical problems. He spends his spare time learning new technologies and travelling to unexplored places.  


Kamran Khan

Mr. Kamran Khan is CEO & Managing Partner of Infra-Tech Capital. Mr. Khan has $12 billion impact investment experience in infrastructure and technology investments.


He was appointed by President Obama as VP of Millennium Challenge Corporation (Assistant Secretary rank in US Government) where he managed a $10 billion portfolio and led $1.5 – 2.0 billion annual investments program. Previously he established the World Bank Group Hub in Singapore and led WB’s Infrastructure Finance Practice in East Asia.


Mr. Khan’s experience includes Technology M&A at J.P. Morgan and LEK Consulting. He was Technical Advisor on Infrastructure Finance to APEC, ASEAN and the G-20, and serves on the Advisory Board of Fudan University Fintech Center where he advises on Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects.
